Doctors who are considered as God on Earth to save people's lives. It is doctors who work selflessly and tirelessly to save people's lives by putting their own health in danger. 

National Doctor's Day is the day to salute all medical professionals and doctors.

Why it is celebrated? | Brief History | India

The Doctor's Day celebration started in India in 1991. This day was commenced by the Government of India in 1991 in the memory of the Late Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy.

This day is celebrated due to the Birth and death Anniversary of Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy. It is celebrated to promote all the medical professionals and Doctor's work.

Who is Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy?

  • Legendary Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy was a great 👌  Physician and a former (2nd) Chief Minister of West Bengal.
  • He was born on 1st July, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962.His age till death was 80 years.
  • He served the West Bengal from 1948 until his death 1962.
  • He was honoured with India's highest Civilian Award "Bharat Ratna" on Feb 4,1961.
  • He is included in the fewer person the history who completed  FRCS & MRCP degree simultaneously.

National Doctor's Day | Theme

Every year the theme of the National Doctor's Day is announced by the Indian Medical Association. 

The theme of the 2019 Doctor's Day was "Zero tolerance to violence against doctors and clinical establishment".
